Tammie Muise and Preston Smith on the radio at CBC Charlottetown

There’s a lot that goes into creating realistic, high-quality healthcare simulation experiences and behind it all is a team of passionate people who make it happen.

The UPEI Clinical Learning and Simulation Centre (CLSC) recently received provisional accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, recognizing the quality of its people, programs and approach to simulation-based education.

From manikins and standardized patients to immersive spaces, the simulation resources within the UPEI Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Centre, combined with our interprofessional team, create diverse and realistic learning experiences for healthcare learners and professionals.

CLSC Director, Tammie Muise, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Preston Smith, joined CBC’s Island Morning to share what simulation training is, and what this international accreditation means for the team and the future of healthcare education on PEI.
