As Year 2 gets underway at Memorial University’s PEI Regional Campus at UPEI, medical learner Sydney Powers is settling into another year of her medical education journey.
A PEI resident from the Cardigan area, Sydney sat down with Louise Martin of CBC PEI to reflect on what the second year is really like, from the pace and expectations of medical school to the experiences that have shaped her journey so far. With just two years left until graduation, she’s also looking ahead to what comes next and to the possibility of giving back to the Island community that she calls home.
Watch the interview as Sydney shares what she’s learning, what she’s looking forward to and her hopes of one day serving her fellow Islanders as a physician.
