1-Initial Password Setup and Requirements
1. To begin using your UPEI account, you must first set up your password. Follow theshese steps to complete your initial password setup:
- Go to the portal at portal.office.com and sign in using your UPEI email address!
- Use your assigned 8-digit PIN as the initial password for your first login.
- Upon signing in, you will be prompted to update your password to a new one.
- Your new password must meet the following requirements:
- At least 8 characters in length
- includes both uppercase and lowercase letters
- contains at least on symbol
- Does not use personal information such as your name or date of birth
2. After updating your password, close the window, open a new tab, and return to portal.office.com.
3. Sign in again using your full UPEI email address and your new password to confirm the update.
4. Setting a strong password is a critical step in protecting your UPEI account and ensuring secure access to university resources.
2-How do I change or recover my password?
- Go to: https://my.upei.ca
- Click on the “Can’t access your account?” link
- Follow the prompts to complete the password reset/account recovery process.
- NOTE: In order to reset your password or recover your account, you must have previously completed your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup and still have access to your MFA method (such as the Microsoft Authenticator app). If you no longer have access to your account recovery method, please contact the HEF ITSSupport Team for further assistance.
